When visiting the Okazaki Castle in Aichi prefecture with Aki-chan and Chizuru, I didn’t suspect yet they had reserved a costume session for me. When we arrived to that section of the museum, several attendants were waiting for us and rapidly started dressing me as Tokugawa Ieyasu (Tokugawa Patrick I say!) and other members of the family as my subordinates, probably highly ranked Samurai of the Aichi prefecture. I was a bit reluctant at first as I am not a big fan of costumes but it turned out to be a lot of fun!
Since my better half is Japanese I often have the chance to travel to Japan. I grew fond over time of this magnificent country. I thought of sharing with you some places worth visiting in this little but growing travel guide to Japan. I try to show with images what I can't express with words. I hope you may find here some inspiration! For those who wonder, I chose the moniker Gaijin-San after being called like this by a waitress at a grilled eel restaurant. "Gaijin" means foreigner and "San" is a honorific suffix in Japanese. View all posts by Gaijin San
