Marunouchi Building and Observatory

The recently renovated Tokyo Station is a landmark in the heart of Tokyo. One can observe it from many locations but the Marunouchi tower may arguably offer one of the best view. While a small observation deck on the 5th floor offers a great view of Tokyo Station, there is also a free observatory at the very top of the building. However, only the south side of the tower is available for viewing where you can catch a glimpse of the Hibiya park and southern edge of the Imperial Palace. Many restaurants occupy the three other sides, therefore by carefully reserving your table you might enjoy a fantastic dining experience with Tokyo’s prime financial district for background.

Gaijin San

Since my better half is Japanese I often have the chance to travel to Japan. I grew fond over time of this magnificent country. I thought of sharing with you some places worth visiting in this little but growing travel guide to Japan. I try to show with images what I can't express with words. I hope you may find here some inspiration! For those who wonder, I chose the moniker Gaijin-San after being called like this by a waitress at a grilled eel restaurant. "Gaijin" means foreigner and "San" is a honorific suffix in Japanese.
