Coastal scenery of Sado island

Sado island is a popular touristic destination located about 50 km North of Niigata prefecture. The island is made of two mountain ranges that are connected by a plain in between where crops are cultivated. The terrain around the mountainous sections of the island is rugged. Travelling around will reveal many winding roads moving up and down along the undulating terrain. For this reason, the coast of Sado island offers a truly beautiful scenery. I recommend travelling around the island by car, or, if you are really fit, by bike. I have actually seen a few young adults traveling around by bike and camping on the island’s coast.

Gaijin San

Since my better half is Japanese I often have the chance to travel to Japan. I grew fond over time of this magnificent country. I thought of sharing with you some places worth visiting in this little but growing travel guide to Japan. I try to show with images what I can't express with words. I hope you may find here some inspiration! For those who wonder, I chose the moniker Gaijin-San after being called like this by a waitress at a grilled eel restaurant. "Gaijin" means foreigner and "San" is a honorific suffix in Japanese.
